Class teachers Will & Basra, welcome another exciting year for our Year 5 & 6 class!
In our first term of Cycle A, we will embark on a fascinating journey through time and across continents. We will explore the wonders of Ancient Greece and consider their lasting impact on our modern world. Our adventures continue as we delve into South America, learning about its diverse countries and vibrant cultures.
In our studies of Islam, we’ll discover the significance of the Qur'an and the rich history surrounding it. Additionally, we will examine the crucial events of World War II, understanding what transpired, where, when, and most importantly, why. Finally, in cycle A, we will connect to our immediate surroundings by investigating the economic activities, trade, industries, and settlements within our local area.
As we start cycle B, we will explore a diverse range of topics, focusing on both the lives and times of famous British Queens; Elizabeth I & Victoria, and how daily life transformed during their eras. We will also journey across North America, examining its geographical features and the cultures within. Pupils will delve into Buddhist worship and core beliefs, gaining an understanding of Buddha's teachings in RE, while in Geography we will investigate our local area’s geographic features, forming connections with our community.
Whether we are studying cycle A or B we will always cover the depth and breadth of the national curriculum, and look forward to a year of learning, growth, and exploration together!
