Class teacher Jo, welcomes you to learn all about Ash

Welcome to an exciting year of learning for Year 3 and 4! Our cycle A curriculum will take your children on a journey through the fascinating Prehistoric World, exploring how life transformed from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. We'll uncover the mysteries of volcanoes and learn about the historical significance of Pompeii.

In addition, pupils will delve into physical and human geography, including the beautiful world of Hinduism and the cultural marvels of homes and mandirs. Our exploration of early civilisations will provide a chronological understanding of how societies evolved into the modern age, highlighting key processes of change along the way.

As we examine the rivers and the world around us, children will identify vital features of our local area and appreciate the water cycle. Lastly, we will discover the Romans, exploring their impact on our landscape and society.

In cycle B, we are thrilled to embark on a journey through history and geography that will ignite your children's curiosity. Our exploration begins with the Ancient Egyptians, uncovering who they were and how they developed as a civilisation. Moving on, we will discover our European neighbours, using maps to locate different countries and describe their unique characteristics.

In our religious studies, we will explore why Easter is important, examining the events surrounding Jesus and the significance of this important celebration. Lastly, we will investigate what the Vikings wanted and how Alfred the Great stopped them. We look forward to a year filled with discovery and growth!
