At Kew Riverside Primary School, we take safeguarding extremely seriously.
We carry out an annual audit of our safeguarding procedures alongside the link Governor. This is then sent to the local authority.
From time to time, we also invite the local authority advisor to the school to carry out a thorough audit. This further strengthens an already robust set of policies and procedures. and in January 2017, Ofsted found our safeguarding to be effective.
All staff receive annual training. The Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy DSLs have Level 3 training to deal with Child Protection Processes. There is also always one trained person in Safer Recruitment when interviewing for new members of staff. Throughout the year, there may be some aspects of safeguarding training that need greater coverage and the necessary people will receive this training and disseminate any new guidance to the rest of the staff and update policies and procedures accordingly.
