At Kew Riverside Primary School, we take safeguarding extremely seriously.
We use an approved audit template and carry out an annual audit of our safeguarding procedures alongside the link Governor. This is then sent to the local authority.
In Autumn of 2016, the local authority advisor visited the school and also carried out a thorough audit. Both visits highlighted some adjustments for us to action. This has further strengthened an already robust set of policies and procedures. and in January 2017, Ofsted found our safeguarding to be effective.
All staff receive annual training. The Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy DSL's have Level 3 training to deal with Child Protection Processes. There is also always one trained person in Safer Recruitment when interviewing for new members of staff. Throughout the year, there may be some aspects of safeguarding training that need greater coverage and the necessary people will receive this training and disseminate any new guidance to the rest of the staff and update policies and procedures accordingly.
