Kew Riverside Primary School

Children at the heart of everything we do

Kew's Sports Desk

"Kew Riverside Netball Team played a fantastic match against Holy Trinity on Friday 3rd February. Despite the cold weather and the drizzling rain, the teams' spirits were not dampened and competition was high. Fast paced from the start, Kew Riverside scored the first goal early on and managed to keep the lead throughout the game. Holy Trinity made a good come back in the final quarter, scoring three goals, but it wasn't enough and we secured our first netball win for the school with a tremendous 9-6!  Thanks to Caitlin Gunn for being our captain and to the parents whose cheering and support made all the difference."

High 5 Netball match report

On Friday 27th January, a team of Year 6 (8 children) represented the school at a netball match against Orleans. Unfortunately, we lost 10-4, however, we played extremely well and all enjoyed ourselves. Matilda was team captain and the four scorers were Indy, Scarlett, Pablo and Gloria. Star of the match was Indy, as he scored and was very good at intercepting. Neal - as our coach - supported us from the side lines. Everyone succeeded and played their best! Our shooting was very good (we need to work a bit more on our accuracy) .We need to improve on our defence (marking) but once we had the ball we were on a roll! As well as playing, Caitlin, Evie and Izzy kept an impeccable score sheet. We have lots of other match and tournaments; hopefully, we will have the opportunity to get some more goals in!
