Paul Lyalls visits KRPS for National Writing Day 2017
National Writing Day 2017
Yesterday, Kew Riverside celebrated the first ever National Writing Day! It was a pleasure to see the children thoroughly enjoying the writing activities planned by teachers and also to welcome the inspiring poet, Paul Lyalls, in for the day. Each class took part in one of his renowned poetry workshops and produced some excellent work. One child in each class was awarded a 'star writer' and the work produced will soon be made in to a book that will housed in the school library.
This event will be celebrated annually and, next year, we will be inviting parents and carers to school so that you can see how amazing our spelling, handwriting and writing work really is!
Many thanks for all of your donations that will go towards Paul's fee. Remember, if you would like to order a copy of his book (with an introduction by Michal Rosen), you can leave your child's name, class and payment of £4 at the office by 30th June.
