Find out about what the Junior Leadership Team (JLT) have been doing this term

Hello, I am Emily, a member of the Junior Leadership Team, and in this article I am going to tell you what the JLT have been up to this half term.

The JLT is a student organisation made up of two students per year between years 3 to 6. Every pupil can try out for the JLT: the class votes for the best four candidates for the job, and the final four have an interview with the chair/chairs and Nathan, the TA in charge. They together select the two people joining.

In the past few weeks we have been extremely busy with many things, but here are a few of them:

*Choosing the new school pets, two guinea pigs named Toffee and Fudge.

*Organising the Remembrance Day silence and presentation.

* Creating a slideshow for Children in Need.

Getting past the issue that the official Children in Need Superhero Dress Up clashes with the whole school individual picture day.

*Petitioning for more badges for achievements throughout the school such as JLT badges, sports badges and many others.

*Running the Genes for Jeans day assembly.

In past years the JLT have done things like:

*Meeting Boris Johnson and touring the new London buses.

*Fundraising events for charities like Shelterbox, Children in Need and Children with Genetic Disorders.

*Doing treasure hunts for all the classes in exchange for charitable donations.

The current members of the JLT are:
