Parent Teachers Association (PTA) & Class Reps

PTA

When your child starts school you and your extended family become members of the PTA and are welcome to get involved as little or as much as fits in with your busy lives.

What the PTA do:

Not only does the PTA raise funds for the school, but it also organises a wide range of social events that help everyone at the school feel like they are part of the big Kew Riverside family. PTA events include the new parents social evening, quiz nights, bingo nights, comedy nights and the annual family camping night.  Our two main events of the year are the Christmas Fayre and Summer Fayre.

What the PTA have raised funds for:

Over the last few years the PTA have raised funds to subsidise schools trips and workshops, helped purchase new ICT equipment, new books for each class and funded a creative arts week for the whole school. The PTA raised more than £10,000 in 2015 for a new school library, Kew Jungle.

Not only does the PTA raise funds for the school, but it also organises a wide range of social events that help everyone at the school feel like they are part of the big Kew Riverside family.

Here are a few ways you can help:

Volunteer

All parents and carers are automatically part of Kew Riverside's PTA and being involved in any way you can is a great way to meet new people and raise money for our fantastic school. We have regular meetings and are always planning the next event so if you can help in any way or have some great fundraising ideas please come to the next PTA meeting or chat with your Class Rep. We look forward to seeing you and your families getting involved!

Recycling Programs

As another great initiative we have teamed up with the Empties Please, Bags2School and Terracycle to help reduce landfill and also earn extra cash for KRPS. Take a look below at all the things we are now collecting:

  • Ink Cartridges, Toners & Mobile Phones
Empties Please will collect and recycle used ink, toner cartridges and mobile phones and will donate the money raised back to us! A recycle bin is located in the School Office. If you could also collect from your places of business that would be greatly appreciated and we can provide bins and collection for that as well - the more cartridges we can collect the more we can raise.
  • Clothing, Linen & Toys
Does your family have clothes that no longer fit, toys they no longer play with, books you no longer read and bric-a-brac you no longer need? Then bag it up and bring it to school for collection. Even ripped, damaged and stained clothing will be accepted but please bag these separately.
  • School Uniforms
If you have any uniform items that no longer fit or book bags no longer in use, we are happy to accept them as donations. Please bring these to school and leave them in the Office for collection.
  • Hard to Recycle Everyday products
Please refer to the poster on the Going Green at Kew Riverside page of the website but a few of the things we collect are:
    • Supermarket plastic carrier bags
    • bread bags
    • baby food pouches
    • Pringles tubes and lids
    • toothpaste, toothbrushes and packaging
    • dishwasher tablet packaging
    • confectionary packaging
